FIFA 16 offers a full and robust package to suit most players
This year's FIFA is more measured and methodical, scaling back the importance of pace and power to a fault. Matches can be tentative tete-a-tetes, with scrappy midfield battles replacing zipped through balls and the domination of sprinting powerhouses like Cristiano Ronaldo. Now FIFA favours recycled possession, smart passing and angled runs. Sports videos games are often ridiculed that they never change. Sure, the graphics are changed to a slight degree, there are new transferred players and teams, and they might be a new game mode, but FIFA 16 is different.
The game has seen arguably its biggest change in a while. The gameplay has drastically changed in the fact that passing matters, and it takes talent to win. A player just can't sprint down the wing with a decent player that crosses it and scores. As usual Lionel Messi is the cover star for the latest FIFA title and is joined by a different co-star in each region of the world. What is unusual this year is that the co-stars in several regions have been decided by fan voting, and the results are now in. Over nine million votes were cast to decide whose visage would appear on the latest cover of the hugely popular video game franchise and throughout this second week of July EA have been slowly releasing the results.
Two players that have performed well is Luis Suarez, along with Kevin De Bruyne who had a great run of form for Wolfsburg before moving to Manchester City - will both be able to find a slot in the main TOTY lineup though? For those asking when FIFA 16 TOTY is out, it should be the week starting January 11th, which is a Monday. This is when the Ballon D'Or event takes place and EA should be revealing the full TOTY lineup afterwards and also the release of the Defenders and Goalkeeper on the same date. The FIFA franchise has been going on for well over 20 years, but only male players were included. This all changes with the release of FIFA 16 as women will finally be in the game.
A total of 12 women's national teams will be included in FIFA 16. The teams include: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden and USA. A common complaint I have heard is that the game forces the AI players into silly errors which usually ends up in a conceded goal. Whether this is true or not it is a worry that fans are already suspecting it. Not only that but to be able to play Draft you either need to have 15,000 coins or 300 FIFA points which are the currency you pay real money for. This is the main gripe I have with this mode. Unless you have the coins available you wont be playing draft unless you are willing to cough up more cash. I have neglected this mode in favor of either spending my coins on players I need or just buying card packs without dealing with the frustrating draft gameplay.
If the entries were reduced to a more reasonable price between 5,000-7,500 I could see it being used more often. Graphically there is a definite improvement here and some would argue that's all FIFA really needs each year. For those people, they will be happy with this iteration. Players faces in particular seem to have a cleaner look to them. The soundtrack on offer is pretty vast as well. You will have put in a good amount of hours before you start hearing repeats of songs. You are probably going to ask which OS or platform this generator supports and the good news is, it is available to all operating systems and known gaming consoles such as iOS, Android, XBOX and even PlayStation. As long as your device can use a web browser, then you can totally use this tool.
FIFA 16 offers a full and robust package to suit most players. The new focus on a slower more methodical game that mirrors a real life match might put off a few die hard fans but it's a change for the best. With PES getting better each year FIFA needs to be one step ahead and they have managed that with FIFA 16. Let's just hope FIFA 17 brings a new graphics engine and a better Career mode.
